A photograph of me

A graduate of The Ontario College of Art and Design in Toronto, I have remained a creative and artistic person since early childhood. As a visual artist, I lean towards traditional representational realism with a painterly approach. I am attracted to light, shadow, the play of light on a living or inanimate surface, dramatic contrasts, and textures. My subjects of choice come from the objects and landscapes that surround me every day in life as well as the figure.

Though currently not involved in any art related associations, I have been a past juried member of the Canadian Federation of Artists, a member of the Oshawa Arts Association, and a long time member of P.R.A.C. in Durham Region, Ontario. My work has won awards, from honourable mentions, an award of excellence in 2000 and 2002, up to best of show for an airbrush portrait of my sister, in many juried exhibitions in Oshawa, Pickering, and in Stouffville, as well as having a small portrait accepted and subsequently sold through the 2006 Small Smaller Smallest show put on by the Canadian Federation of Artists. As well, I have been accepted as an exhibiting artist into the Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition in both 1992 and 1995, and had a solo exhibition of my work at the OPG building in Pickering, Ontario in 2008. My most extensive commercial piece, contracted to me from a Toronto muralist, was a 13'x5' airbrushed acrylic wall mural on canvas that was then installed in the HMV store on Yonge and Dundas and remained hung there for a year.

My commissioned portraits and small paintings have been purchased by buyers in Canada, the United States, and in the UK.

Currently, my artistic pursuits include drawing and painting for personal pleasure and continual growth, while also enjoying nature photography.
